i'm just chia: July 2008

i know it has been a long time since i have last posted. nothing thrilling has happened but i promised carly some picutres of fireworks. i had to wait until pioneer day to get fireworks because miley cyrus was scheduled to perform at the stadium of fire on the fourth of july and provo was, well i dont even know how to describe it, but it was CRAZY! it was worse than any game day when byu played the utes. i had decided that i was going to go up to east lawn cemetary and shoot picutres from up there, but they had it fenced off and i couldnt get in. so i went home and watched the fireworks from my bedroom window. i wasnt able to take picutres of those because i had buildings in the way and it wasnt a clear shot. i was sad. so i waited for 2 weeks and as the 24th was nearing i realized that susan and family (including grandma) was up at their new lakehouse in northern idaho. i wasnt sure if brian was still planning on doing the springville fireworks show and i couldnt get a hold of anyone becuase their phones didnt get service up in idaho. i was stressing out because i didnt know of any other big shows that would be going on and i REALLY wanted to try out my new camera with fireworks. so the day before i called grandma for the umpteenth time and it didnt go to her voicemail... and she answered. at that point i knew she was back in town (i hadnt seen her since she dropped me off at the airport for my flight to oklahoma) and that there was going to be a show. YAY! mary and i had to work that day, but we got pf changs to go and met up with the family down at the ballfield in mapleton and ate and played with the kids. the kids had glowsticks and i took pictures of them with their glowsticks... the pics are really cool looking. the firework show was great, or at least what i saw of it. i watched it through my camera, stressing about whether i was getting good pictures or not. i think i got some good ones so i was a happy camper. here are some pictures from the night...

and here are the firework shots i captured. i really like the shots of the fireworks that i got as they exploded... before they showed their color and shape. i also like the multiple fireworks in a single shot. actually i just like fireworks... a lot. maybe one day...
